Egypt: Avian Influenza and "SAT 2" Israeli industry

29/04/2012 08:27

Threat to the poultry industry in Egypt, the whole bronchitis virus or so-called bird flu, causing a negative impact on workers in this industry, which is estimated at more than 2 million workers as well as losses incurred by the industry, including nearly 2.5 billion pounds.

Amid these problems, poultry prices rose dramatically after the appearance of a fierce strain of foot and mouth disease caused the deaths of thousands of head of cattle.

Attributed the expert public health and epidemics in the Egyptian Association of the United Nations, Dr. "Essam Ramadan" that Israel is waging biological warfare going on Egypt for the elimination of livestock and poultry in Egypt.

Ramadan said that biological warfare is not as serious as war-fighting, where she started 10 years ago when eggs were added to immune microbe infects poultry injuries lead to significant mortality and this was in the era of former Minister of Agriculture, "Youssef".

Ramadan added that the FMD virus within the Israeli war against Egypt be set up companies in the countries of the headwaters of the Nile under pseudonyms and smuggled animals slaughtered without a medical examination into the Egyptian border and were infected with tuberculosis.

To the entry of live animals from Ethiopia without knowing their origin during the period of lawlessness during the Revolution through the ports Halaib and Shalatin, Suez, were infected with a new generation of foot and mouth disease called "SAT 2".

He Ramadan that foot and mouth disease threat to livestock and do not represent a threat to human health because exposure of meat to high temperatures kill the virus, however, when slaughtering the animal secretes the animal's body, "lactic acid" kill the virus because it is acid, and this condition is called scientifically "stiffness throwing."

With regard to poultry Ramadan said that frozen poultry are safer than live because it is detected by a doctor from the slaughterhouse prior to slaughter, but must change the culture of the Egyptian consumer who accepts the live poultry as the most delicious taste.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt produces and to 2 million chickens a day so I started the war by the bird flu virus, but the so-called Union established a poultry Qrchin fund is paid for each chicken to compensate for the educator when a crisis occurs.

With all the advances in biotech and the reduced cost of ever-more-efficient engineering tools, concern over what someone might do with it is obvious.

I feel sometimes like some people drop a scattergun accusation just in case, when they have no idea whether there's a target to hit or not. If their accusations are false, perhaps they don't see any negative consequence especially if the accused is somebody they don't like anyway. Maybe they think someone who is evil enough to take a bioweapon off the shelf (against every warfare treaty there is) will be shamed out of thinking about something they would have otherwise gone ahead and done.

A society has got to value individual liberty and the individual morality to be able to handle that liberty. Otherwise, you get this sort of grappling for a sense of security that makes you say and do things that are not very smart, out of perspective with one's supposed faith, and so on.

I hope for better days over there, and I hope the riddle of how to conduct oneself and one's speech does not fly over anyone's head like a Hezbollah rocket.
