Crow deaths triggers panic in Keonjhar #H5N1 #BIRDFLU

Keonjhar: Following bird flu in Kerang area of Khurda district, Angul district, Bahanada in Mayurbhaj district, crow deaths in large number have been reported from Anandapur sub-division in Keonjhar district, creating panic among the people as there is no measure by departmental officials or the district administration to make the people aware about the pros and cons of the problem.
Just two days back, over a hundred crows were found dead in different areas of the sub-division, including village Ambagadia in Hatadihi block, and members of a voluntary organisation burnt them after people kept aloof from the exercise out of fear.
The sub-divisional Veterinary Officer said they have no arrangements to create awareness among the people, indirectly hinting that efforts by district-level machinery are required to tackle the situation.
It is necessary that the district-level administration and the fisheries and animal resources department should come forward to contain the spread of the flu menace to more areas, the public demanded.
