Indonesia: 38 Villages in Bali Bird Flu Free #H5N1

Denpasar (Bali Reuters) - A total of 38 villages in the province of Bali including categories seem free from the threat of transmission of bird flu virus outbreak.

"To be categorized seem free from the threat of bird flu, one village at least should not have been no cases within 60 days of control efforts," said Head of Livestock Bali, Putu Sumantra, in Denpasar, on Tuesday.

He mentioned that in Bali there are 58 villages that became an epidemic of bird flu cases. Of that amount, as many as 38 of whom are no longer appeared the outbreak within 60 days.

"That's because when it appears the case, we take immediate steps to be taken," said Sumantra.

He said he hoped the villages which until now seemed free status can lead to a category that is completely free of bird flu.

He added that in Bali there are also 13 villages belonging to the category of control because during the 15 days since the case for control measures and carried the bird flu virus does not appear anymore .
