Leading Bali Tourism Figure Calls on Government for Decisive Action and Comprehensive Information on Bird Flu Control

The coordinator of the Bali and West Nusa Tenggara Chapter of Association of Indonesian Travel Agents (ASITA), Bagus Sudiya, has called on the government to respond to the H5N1 Avian Flu situation in Bali by providing comprehensive explanations on the steps being taken to eliminate the threat of the disease spreading.

Sudbiya, as reported by Bisnis Bali, said Bali visitors need complete and clear explanations to permit people to make informed decision on whether or not to visit Bali. Without such information about concrete steps being taken by the government to control Bird flu, tourists will be unable to make informed decisions on whether or not to continue with their plans to visit Bali.
Moreover, according to Sudibya, urgent action by the government is needed to control bird flu together with informed statements of reassurance to the worldwide media will also help avoid travel warnings being issued by foreign nations which could have a detrimental impact on Bali tourism.  http://www.balidiscovery.com/messages/message.asp?Id=7512
