Second polio case reported in Russia

Another polio case has been reported in Moscow, Russia’s Chief Health Inspector Gennady Onishchenko said. The first case occurred in the Irkutsk region (Siberia). Both diseased are children who returned from infection-hit Tajikistan. Onishchenko said that thousands of Russian soldiers located in Tajikistan will get polio- vaccines as soon as possible. Currently 215 children in Tajikistan are in hospitals and 15 died of polio.
